The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is deeply committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all persons and businesses within the Minnehaha County Courthouse and the Minnehaha County Administration Building. This commitment is unwavering and is at the core of our operations.
These duties, which are crucial for maintaining order and ensuring justice, include but are not limited to the judiciary of Minnehaha County magistrate courts, circuit courts, and juvenile courts, as well as for court officials, witnesses, jurors, staff, and defendants.
Officers give a roving presence in the Minnehaha County Courthouse and campus, perform security screening at entrances, make emergency responses to disturbances that occur in the courthouse or adjacent administration building, take persons into custody as directed by the court following established procedures and guidelines, provide first responder first aid and summon appropriate medical assistance, act as liaison for/with other agencies during emergencies, and provide general assistance to the public professionally and courteously.
